From the recording Return to Dust
I came up with the melody for "Hand in Hand" in early 2024 and realized how perfectly bittersweet it sounds: to me, it felt like being with someone I love, but knowing I have to leave them soon. Recently, several of my close family members have passed away, and this is a feeling I've had to get used to. This piece is very close to me, especially because my dad says it's one of the best melodies I've written, and if there's any person who's always been "hand in hand" with me, always by my side and helping me achieve everything I've done in life, it is my dad.
