From the recording Return to Dust
I wrote this piece in the summer of 2024 and it became my family's summer theme song. We did a lot of traveling, and I played it every time I found a piano. I look back on these memories with a lot of gratitude, and to me this piece encapsulates that sense of sweet nostalgia—remembering your favorite summer memories, maybe the end of your childhood, that you'll never get back. For a long time, I thought I would keep this piece for myself and my family only, but in the summer of 2025 I decided to record it and release it for you to enjoy as well.
